The Rotary Academy is District 5030’s unique, powerful and comprehensive self-paced study program of Rotary information! With an extraordinary curriculum and a dedicated staff of instructors, this program provides a unique opportunity for both new and experienced Rotarians alike to deepen their knowledge and love of Rotary. This program is especially valuable for new Rotarians and those considering or entering club or district leadership positions, however, all Rotarians are encouraged to register.
The program consists of eight independent lessons and a final essay on a topic of your choice completed from September through June each year. Lessons include the History and Organization of Rotary, Membership, Youth Service, International Service, Community and Vocational Service, District Policies & Procedures, The Rotary Foundation and Rotary Public Image.
You can work independently or create a study group in your club or even join with members of other clubs. Lessons are completed at a pace of about 1 per month and submitted for review and feedback to the instructor as they are completed. You are eligible for graduation by successfully completing all lessons.
The program kicks off with an orientation meeting in September and ends with a graduation ceremony in June. Registration generally closes at the end of September each year, however, late comers are welcome provided they can finish the lessons by the June deadline. The cost of the program is $95.00 for new students, $80.00 per student for those who register as groups of 2 or more or for all Rotaractors, and $75.00 for returning students who previously registered but did not complete a prior course. Registration fees are non-refundable. Cost includes all training materials and the graduation dinner. Guests may attend the graduation dinner at a cost of $60.00 per person.
