Rotary First Harvest is a program of Rotary District 5030--connecting farmers, truckers, volunteers and food banks for hunger relief. Rotary First Harvest gathers 7.5-10 million pounds of produce annually from Washington food producers. Rotary First Harvest serves as a broker, securing food donations, arranging transportation and directing them to emergency food distributors throughout the state. Additionally, they ship surplus food to California and Arizona in exchange for surplus food in those states.
RFH work parties happen every second Saturday morning at the Northwest Harvest warehouse in Kent, and every fourth Saturday at the Food Lifeline warehouse in Shoreline. Help pack food that both organizations distribute to food banks serving families and individuals in need.
